We are proud to announce that two graduate students in the Colorado Center for Advanced Ceramics (CCAC) have been selected for the Lohmiller Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award for the 2024-2025 academic year: Rejwanur Rahman, advised by Professor Jihye Kim, and Alexander Hopkins, advised by Professor Ivar Reimanis.

This competitive award recognizes teaching assistants who demonstrate exceptional dedication to student education and make significant contributions to their classes. Both students were selected based on strong recommendations from instructors and their outstanding work as teaching assistants, particularly for their effective interaction with students and meaningful impact on classroom learning.

The Lohmiller Outstanding TA Award honors teaching assistants who assist in classes with more than five students, support required courses and large enrollment classes, maintain strong student interactions, and have a significant positive impact on their classes overall. The award comes with a $500 recognition.

The award is funded through the generous support of Chuck and Kristen Lohmiller. Chuck Lohmiller is a graduate of the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering department, continuing a family tradition of Lohmiller graduates from the program.

Congratulations to Rejwanur Rahman and Alex Hopkins on this well-deserved recognition of their commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentorship. This achievement reflects the high caliber of graduate students in the CCAC program and their dedication to both research and education.
