C graduate student, Elizabeth Palmiotti, has received the IIE-GIRE Fellowship. This fellowship program is funded by NSF and funds doctoral engineering students to conduct innovative research abroad for 3 – 5 months. Students are introduced to new research approaches and methods in an international setting, which improves their expertise and qualifications as scientists and engineers, and allows them to contribute to the global scientific community.
Elizabeth plans to travel to the University of Nantes in France to work with Dr Nicolas Barreau’s group.
