Our Mission


  • Interaction and collaboration: We aim to create new partnerships and collaborations by connecting CCAC members and affiliates with other individuals and groups conducting research in related areas.
  • Resources: We strive to introduce CCAC members to the range of user facilities and expertise available within the Center and related facilities.
  • Community building: We seek to foster relationships among CCAC members and affiliates by providing an opportunity to interact in a cordial setting.

I’m a second-year materials science PhD student under Dr. Geoff Brennecka, and I research the effects of growth conditions and impurities on the properties of ferroelectric nitride films. I received my B.S. in Ceramic Engineering from Missouri S&T. My hobbies consist of exploring Colorado, playing ultimate frisbee and laser cutting.

I am a 2nd year Ph.D. student in Materials Science at the Colorado School of Mines working full-time at NREL. My doctoral research focuses on defect characterization in 4H SiC-based high power devices. I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Physics and Chemistry from the University of Bordeaux and a dual master degree from Mines and the University of Bordeaux in Physical Chemistry and Chemical Physics/Materials Science. I like basketball, working out and traveling.

I’m a 5th year PhD student working under Prof. Ivar Reimanis on microstructure evolution in metal/perovskite composite materials, and this is my 3rd year helping to plan this conference.  I moved to Golden in January of 2017 after getting my Bachelors in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan. Outside of my studies, I love running, skiing, hiking, and other outdoor activities.
jai sharma
I’m a 2nd year PhD student and NDSEG fellow working under Dr. Corinne Packard. My research focuses on investigating mechano-optical coupling in rare earth orthophosphate ceramics. I got my BS in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, cooking, and eating. This is my 2nd year helping organize this conference.
