Colorado School of Mines Joins USACA Delegation in Washington D.C. to Support Increased Training of Ceramic Engineers

On March 11th, 2026, Colorado School of Mines was part of a delegation within the United States Advanced Ceramics Association (USACA) that visited the United States Senate offices of four states to support appropriations for workforce development in Ceramic Engineering. Along with Mines, Alfred University, Missouri University of Science and Technology, and Weber State University participated, along with industrial partners Boeing and Lucideon. Ivar Reimanis represented Mines. USACA has supported efforts to increase training of ceramic engineers for emerging technologies, especially in the military sector where ceramics are enabling materials.
