The MME Department was awarded a Department of Education Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) grant to support student research in areas critical to the nation’s future and renewing and enhancing U.S. infrastructure. Dr. Suveen Mathaudhu is the PI for the multi-year Fellowship. Fellows receive funding for living expenses and tuition for one academic year and are eligible to really for the GAANN in subsequent years.

Charlie Meisel (advisers: Dr. Ryan O’Hayre and Dr. Neal P. Sullivan) and Allison Perna (adviser: Dr. Corinne Packard), along with four other MME graduate students, were selected as GAANN Fellows in fall 2022.
