CCAC faculty member, Dr. Brian Gorman, was elected as the 2023-2025 The ACerS Education and Professional Development Council (EPDC) co-chair. Read letter to members below.

Congratulations Dr. Gorman!

Dear EPDC members,

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Brian P. Gorman has been elected as the 2023-2025 EPDC co-chair to replace Krista Carlson after her term ends with the 2023 ACerS Annual Meeting.

Dr. Gorman is a Professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. He was recently awarded with the 2023 EPDC Outstanding Educator Award, and serves on the ACerS Publications Committee, among other volunteer roles. We believe his involvement in this new role will help us continue to expand upon our current goals related to education and professional development.

We would also like to thank those who applied for the 2023-2025 EPDC co-chair position. We appreciate their time and look forward to everyone’s continued involvement in the EPDC. Involvement of our members is critical to the success of the council in aiding ACerS in supporting the ceramic and glass community.

Warm regards,

Steven Naleway, EPDC co-chair 2022-2024 and
Krista Carlson, EPDC co-chair 2021-2023
